Our adventure begins as we board our fast motorboat from the pier at Lake Gatun (Lago Gatun) which is located directly across from the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. This man-made lake is actually the heart of the Panama Canal and you will appreciate this watershed that much more once we embark onto the Panama Canal navigating along gigantic cargo ships and even cruise ships! As a special treat with the widening of the Panama Canal underway right now; you can see the equipment used to dredge the canal in action. A very unique Panama Canal Tour experience.
As we make our way through the Panama Canal, we will venture off the main waterway to smaller channels that existed long before the canal was even built. Keep your eyes peeled from Monkeys and Sloths chilling in their treetop habitats along with a wealthy variety of tropical birds. Keep your belongings secure while feeding the monkeys or they may take off with more than a peanut. Iguanas can be seen basking in the sun or along the river rocks along with crocodiles. Look out as they crocodiles are swimming in the same channels as our boat!
Upon arriving at our destination which is an extraordinary floating jungle lodge; we will have some time to chill out in the hammocks or wander around discovering all the hidden nooks and crannies of this uniquely designed lodge while a traditional style lunch is prepared and served.
After lunch you have free-time to Kayak deep into the jungle, Swim with crocodiles (kidding... well kind of kidding), or go fishing for Peacock Bass. All activities included. If you prefer, hit the hammocks again and just relax and enjoy the sounds of the jungle that surrounds you before we head back.
